A collection of artists from Portugal

Uma coleção de artistas de Portugal.

  • Bina Tangerina (Sabina Louro) was born in 1996 in Portugal.

She graduated in Fine Arts, where she fell in love with printing techniques and author editions. Since 2014, she has dedicated her time to illustration.

In 2020, Bina co-founded MAGO Studio, a risoprint studio with a focus on illustration and small editions.

  • Emma is an English and Mozambican designer from Cambridge currently living and working in Lisbon, Portugal.

The biggest joy in her work is colour. The process involved usually centres around mixing analogue and digital methods. The main goal of Emma’s work is to honour life through beauty; something she has learnt from her personal studies in African art.

  • Félix Rodrigues is a queer and trans artist from Faro, Portugal.

He’s based in Lisbon where he works as a tattoo artist and illustrator, exploring color, space and everyday moments of joy.

  • Mafalda Slam is a portuguese multidisciplinary artist based in Lisbon.

Being inspired by growing up dancing ballet and consuming late 2000s/early 2010s pop culture, Mafalda’s work explores the connection between bodies and emotions in search of one’s self acceptance.

She celebrates softness, grace and strength. In both traditional and digital mediums, she uses colour and elements such as plants and flowers to capture the ambience of each piece.

  • Ileana Rovetta is an Argentinian-Spanish illustrator who has been living in Lisbon for a decade. Her works convey messages of hope, joy and a deep respect for childhood.

She enjoys bringing her art to life through screen-printing and risography. Recently, she has also taken an interest in ceramics and began to produce her own unique pieces.

  • Mon Studio is the creative playground of Jennifer Mon (she/her) a queer artist and designer of colour from Lisbon, Portugal.

While studying graphic design, Jennifer fell in love with the work of Hannah Hoch and Helina Metaferia. Interested in the idea of capturing and exploring one moment visually, she began using collage as her main medium. Jennifer’s work centres around womanhood and its traditional ideals in relationships.
